The Phillies and Rhys Hoskins got some good news and bad news on Thursday.  The bad news was that Hoskins and his fractured jaw will head to the disabled list.   The good news? No surgery is required on the young slugger, meaning he will be back in a matter of weeks and not months.

So, what was a disastrous May for Hoskins that saw him slash a .161/.253/.299 line for the month, hitting 6 doubles and 2 homers ends with a broken jaw suffered Monday when he was hit in the face by his own foul ball.  He is hitting .233 with 6 home runs and 28 runs batted in on the season.

In Hoskins’ absence the Phillies outfield will feature Nick Williams, Odubel Herrera and Aaron Altherr.  Newly promoted OF Dylan Cousins will be rotated in the mix.
