Bears land Peppers, Taylor
by Eric SchwartzWell, it didn’t take long. Eagles fans can cross Julius Peppers off their wish list as it is being reported that Peppers and the Bears have agreed on a contract.
The following is from ESPN’s John Clayton.
The Bears and Julius Peppers are in the process of finalizing a six-year deal to bring the top free agent in 2010 to Chicago, according to a source.
After agreeing on the numbers on the deal, both sides are having the language of the contract reviewed by the league and the NFLPA. If the language is approved, the source said, Peppers will be a Bear.
Peppers was looking for at least $12 million a year in the early part of the contract. The agreement could be worth $40 million over the first three years.
The Bears have been busy, also closing a deal with running back Chester Taylor. Another free agent that many Eagles fans had longed for, Antrel Rolle, is close to signing with the Giants, according to multiple sources.
Meanwhile Jake Delhomme is balling his eyes out in one of the most bizarre press conferences I have ever seen. He is calling them tears of joy, but is an absolute mess right now. Clearly he was attached to Carolina.

Got something to say?

Eric, I had the scoop on peppers, didnt want to jinx the birds, but from what I learned earlier today, I kind of knew he was going to Chicago, see my last post. Maybe we can land Kampman, so the free agent market is not a total bust ??
