A player like Cole Hamels would bring a ton back to the Phillies that could set them up for years to come. By stating that there is some sort of "disrespect" is not very accurate. In fact they respect his ability as a player to know that they could ask for and most likely get the moon for him. I understand why they came out said that they won't trade him, but that is alot like the dreaded vote of confidence with coaches. I've seen and heard this song and dance before and won't believe any of it until I see it, so the offseason is still in question. I dont need drama and rumors, I would rather wait through the off season secure in the knowledge that the nucleus of the team is intact and know what to expect next season.
