It is all but assured

The rumors are true. It was announced today the Sixers have offered Allen Iverson a $700,000 limited contract to return to the team for the remainder of the year. Not all we can do is sit back and wait.
the 10 time All Star was MVP for the team in 2001, the last time they were significantly above .500 and in any kind of contention whatsoever in the National Basketball Association. And of course, they would love to have him accept the offer, pass team physicals and suit up in time for the Denver Nuggets game next week, Philly teams are never able to play down a players return against a previous team.
The Sixers are 5-13 this year with 7 straight losses after their loss to Dallas and about to make an early disappearance from Eastern contention once again unless something is done. Evidently, Ed Snider has decided that what to do is to welcome Iverson, who first played for the Sixers in 1996 back to the team, after he refused to play the fourth quarter against Chicago nearly 3 years ago today.
I don’t agree with this decision, and see it more as a way to get fans to return to the games, as the 76ers are presently second to last in percentage of seats sold league wide. I hope Allen contributes, but I feel it is more likely he will bring dissention to an already struggling team that has virtually no chance of making the playoffs this year.
