2012 not just a movie in Daulton’s bizzare world

2012 not just a movie in Daulton’s bizzare world thumbnail

The end of the world is here – well at least it is at the theaters.

The winter’s first blockbuster “2012” was released today, a film based on the concept of the world ending as predicted by the Mayan calendar. The movie is directed by Ronald Emmerich, who also brought us Independence Day and by all accounts of the previews, this film will offer just and many explosions. It’s probably a good time at the movies.

However, for some, the idea of the world ending in 2012 is not just a movie – it’s real.

Current Phillies analyst and former player Darren Daulton is one of those believers.

In fact he has the world’s end down to the minute – December 21 at 11:11 a.m. Greenwich time.

In 2006, Daulton gave us this little gem.

“That will be the end of this dispensation. I really don’t know how to explain it. I don’t know what words to use so people won’t think I’m goofy. But by Dec. 21, 2012 (the last day recorded on the Mayan calendar], people will have a pretty good idea. It’s all about consciousness and love. We have the ability to create whatever we want. We’re all made of energy.”

Now Daulton is one of those guys that people have questioned about performance enhancing drugs. Personally, I would be more worried about drugs of another kind in his system.

Can’t you just imagine the conversations that might have taken place when Daulton went out to the mound to talk to Curt Schilling.

Curt: Why aren’t you putting any signs down?

Dutch: We don’t need signs.

Curt: What do you mean? Of course we need signs.

Dutch: No we don’t. Just throw any pitch and use your mind and it will become a perfect pitch. It’s all about consciousness and love.

Curt (With Dutch walking away): And I thought Mitch was the crazy one.

Listen, I loved Dutch as a player. As a person, I don’t want to be within 100 yards of him. Well, expect maybe on December 22, 2012. That day I wouldn’t mind talking to him.

The dudee is a total nut. Plus his face doesn’t move when he talks.

I just don’t get Cusack as an “action hero” Who cast this thing ? And Daulton and Dykstra both went crazy after retirement, Lenny with his financial guru debacle, and Dutch with his “we are all made of energy” shtick ?? Next Kruk will come out with the New and improved Adkins diet !!

Oddly enough one could say Mitchie-poo has possibly become the best at what he does from that team. I do enjoy Kruk on ESPN and Larry Andersen is a good color guy, but I really enjoy Williams on the net and MLB Network.
