After Five – Phils Up 1-0 On Howard’s Homer
by BigGreek24
So far the only thing anyone could’ve guessed would be that Ryan Howard would’ve supplied the power, and he has done exactly that. His opposite field homer in the fourth inning, his first of the post-season, has given Pedro and the Phillies a 1-0 lead as the game goes into the sixth inning.
The homer was one of three homers that ex-Phillie Vicente Padilla has allowed, and the only mistake. Pedro has been even better, allowing just two hits over five innings, getting pop outs and sawing off Dodger bats. That we have a pitcher’s duel between the two is rather hard to have imagined coming in.
Pedro is looking like the Pedro of old and except for the homer to Howard, Padilla has matched him. Howard now has an rbi in every Phillies playoff game this post-season. Here’s hoping his first homer of the post-season is enough to send the series back to Philadelphia with the Phillies up 2-0.
